POLK SDA 2 magic sound

Options
I've just purchased a pair of Polk SDA 2. Those speakers left me speechless. There is only a meter between the speakers and they are placed in the center of the room . I felt a sensation of musical reality but also a pleasure never found in so many year of listening .
Similarly to the Monitor 10 they seem to not care about a not very carefully enviromental acoustics . All the speakers tested previously demonstrated incompatibility with the enviromental acoustic. I have not connected the interconnect cable between the two speakers because I'm afraid of ruining the magic sound .

Then you do NOT have "only SDA 2".
You have either SDA 2a or SDA 2b.
Once again we cannot answer your questions in your other thread until you confirm the drivers in your speakers.

@61sds61 Welcome to the forum. Please don't feel insulted by questions asked here. The members here have years of experience with SDA speakers. I've seen way too many new members come & go quickly because they feel insulted. The members here enjoy helping new members out to get the best out of their SDA speakers & at the same time not damage your gear. Even myself going around in circles thinking I'm doing it right, to find out I wasted $$$ for no reason. Keep in mind the age of the speakers as well. With the right steps you can bring those speakers to a whole different level as well. Welcome again. Enjoy your day.

So is it SDA2b ? If so those are a great speaker. Easy to power over other older 2 speakers. There is a Drop In Replacement tweeters that are way better - RD 0194 tweeters. Well known here by others

I think that the ease of driving is a truly positive feature of this speaker . For the moment I have connected ny old J. Linsley Hood class A amplifier . With no other kind of speaker, I have tried before my amplification proven to have a silky tone similar to Valves . Since I've got an old pair of ohm walsh 2 x2 , I would not imagine that a speaker such as the Polk sda could behave like an ominidiretional speaker with so many other qualities .

Today I connected the interconnect cable . I can say that the musician seemed to be floating in the air . You don't feel like turning off the system . I think it is one the few hi -fi items that stand the test of time .Obiouvsly this is my humble opinion .
