Hello everyone,
I selected the Polk for it's backward compatibility with everything, set it up via EArc on my TCL Roku tv. Everything is connected, sounds pretty good.
The problem I am having is that I am getting no indication from the bar as to what kind of audio signal it's using. One of my main intentions with it is to listen to the Atmos mixes of one of my favorite bands. I am using a PS5 as my disc player.
I first watched a concert Blu of Porcupine Tree, selected Atmos in setup, no LED lights whatsoever. (My previous Yamaha soundbar had lights for DD etc) So I went back and selected DD 5.1 to see if that would give any kind of indication. Still nothing. This was with the PS5 connected to the TV.
Next I reconnected straight to the soundbar, no problem except again, no LED indicating the signal being used. I tried a blu of the movie Flashdance since I knew that would have a DTS 5.1 track. It sounded good, the sound coming from the rears sounded right, no fake bleedover from the fronts, but no light indicating DTS.
Should there be any indication of the type of audio being played? The only time I have seen one is when I use airplay or bluetooth for music. The only information I get from the bar is Movie, Music, etc for the EQ settings. The bar came with a quick setup guide but no manual. Is there something I'm missing, or is this just the way it's supposed to be? I have made sure that Atmos is the preferred output in the settings of the PS5.
Appreciate anyone's help.

Hello,
Welcome to the Polk forum. I'll send a copy of your question to a friend at Polk. -
This information was provided:
On Max SR:
DTS = Yellow light
Dolby = Green light
PCM = Orange light
On Max AX :
Press info button on the remote 2t times to see current signal information
-
A further clarification:
"He mentions AirPlay… so tell him to press the Info button on the remote 2x to see signal information. He’s got the AX model." -
Thank you those replies were perfect. Now I have to figure out why I'm only getting 7.1 PCM but it could be a Sony thing.
