Noise bursts from s2 signa

Just bought an s2 signa soundbar. Works great but seemingly only when there is a audio source into the sound bar. I am using an hdmi arc output from my smart TV and when there is an audio source its all good. But when there isn't e.g. on netflix or prime when searching for a film and it's silent then I get bursts of noise though the soundbar, every few seconds. Not loud but annoying.
i wondered if it was my TV or the soundbar is faulty, or just a TV audio setting thing. Any ideas?
