Snub Way road test

If you are not familiar with this device (as I was not)...see this thread.

https://forum.polkaudio.com/discussion/200503/veri-fi-snubway-dont-listen-to-music-experience-it/p1

Many thanks to Tom for making us aware of this product. I have been in touch with Mark and he is willing to send me a unit to allow fellow Polkies to try it out for themself. He seems very confident that it will be a hit, as it was for Tom and several others here.

If you are interested in receiving a unit to try in your system you must have at least 100 posts as of the date of this thread. I'm thinking each of us gets 10 days to test drive the Snub Way and then it gets forwarded onto the next person in line. If you are interested, please indicate with a reply to this thread. Then follow up with a PM to me with your name and mailing address. Once you have tried the device, you are responsible for postage to the next person in line.

This should be interesting :)

Just a side note here, Mark has offered the unit he is sending at a price of $185 to one of us that auditions his product. If enough people show interest in this I guess it will go to a person via random number pick similar to karmas here. Also, I have absolutely no affiliation with Mark or his company, just a curiosity about this product.

I know I'm surprised at the lack of interest also. You have nothing to lose guys, well worth it to hear how it works in your system. Sign up & lets get this in home demo moving.

I would be interested in this as well. However, I also have an APC H15 PC, with the 4 different "banks" of outlets. I don't think, from my reading, one of these can filter the whole PC, just one of the four "banks" (even if there is an outlet available). Is this correct? I can't use the other outlet on the wall that the PC is plugged into, unfortunately. In the living room each wall plug is split. Meaning, one outlet has constant power and the other is run by a wall switch for the lighting (1970's ranch, guess it was a thing back then). If I can only use it for one of the "banks" I'll have to pass, as all are full except a couple...

The APC H15s outlets are pretty tight and the Vera-Fi units are chunky. With the Nordost cables I’m using I needed to use a spot on top (digital filter bank) that had both outlets on either side open, plus the one immediately below it. I thought that’d be perfect since both my CD player and DAC are plugged into the same bank, but neither the SnubWay or the Master Class made a difference there.

I did however get a noticeable improvement placing the SnubWay in a wall outlet two spots down from the APC. I’d agree with Tom it’d be worth a try.

    Serious question...

Are these things instant? Like you plug them in and they instantly change the sound or does it take time

Instant, yes. But to get the most out of them, allow two days once the optimum location has been found.

Not needed. You know what the Muon did. This is akin to the same thing, but without the long, strange acid trip of sound when it is breaking in. Both unit's actually were.

My son walked in after the install of the MC and commented that it sounded different....cleaner, if you will. And he could care less about music.

That's true test, isn't it? She needs to be able to hear the appreciable change from a few rooms away. (Preferably the kitchen)

My wife will be a second source/critic once the units arrive. She lost hearing in 1 ear years ago but she can actually hear things I sometimes don't, esp higher frequencies. Obviously she cannot tell the difference in sound stage or separation but she can hear the quality of sound.

Th Legend speakers we have took the place of my old updated SDA 2Bs and she instantly appreciated the difference in sound. Too bad she does not "listen" to music with me any more, she's happy with background tunes for obvious reasons.

I typically don’t lend much credence to these sorts of things, BUT - I have the utmost respect for Tom, and I know he and I look for the same things in sound reproduction. So… PM incoming.

Just a little feedback without going into too much detail (for now anyway) The SnubWay made a definite difference in my 2 channel system... absolutely for the better. The Master Class in another location made a HUGE difference on the annoying hum I was getting from my 13yr old Panny 65" Plasma. I was floored by what it did.
I'm still playing around with other locations for both units but I am more than thrilled with what I've experienced so far.
Definitely worth getting in to give the SnubWay a try. You have nothing to lose.

Even if you think your system may not benefit from testing it? You should absolutely take the offer here. All it will cost is shipping to the next person, which would be about 10 bucks. As I mentioned in the other thread, I feel that this should be basic gear for every system. I'm already glad that it has helped folks who already have it along their audio journey. For 10 bucks, this is a no brainer just to see how it does in your system.

Even folks who have multiple Puron's and the AQ Niagra 7000 are reporting quite the change, so if you think already eliminated the noise? Think again. There is more noise to abate. Both target specific noise areas. FWIW.

That sounds like a cool community-driven demo program! It’s always great when audiophiles get together to share experiences and test new gear in real-world setups. The Veri-Fi Snubway seems to have piqued some curiosity—what exactly does it do? Is it some kind of signal conditioner, ground isolator, or enhancement device for audio playback?

If you’ve had a chance to try it yet, what’s your initial impression?
