An isobaric sub has the two driver mounted facing each other and out of phase. That increases the output since the drivers are working as one. This was a dual band pass isobaric I built many years ago.
Well with car subwoofers in those isoberic boxes or whatever I was told when they face the subs at each other they run one out of phase from the other. Take that with a grain of salt though. That's just what I remember.
