Dipping my toe into streaming

I listen mostly to vinyl and CDs / SACDs in my 2 channel room. But my space also houses my flight sim rig and I don't want to get up in the middle of a crosswind approach to flip an album, so wanted to see how well streaming would work.
Picked up a WiiM mini and hooked it up to my Schiit Bifrost via optical cable, then into the Marantz integrated, which I run on Source Direct. I stream Apple Music from my phone.
I must say, for $89 this little streamer does a nice job. Currently listening to Lyle Lovett's "Joshua Judges Ruth" and everything sounds like it should.
Not sure if higher res music would sound significantly different to me, as my hearing is pretty bad.
For now though, I'm reasonably impressed.

Nah, keeping them. Thursday night is my wife's TV night (all shows I won't watch). Nothing beats sitting in my Ikea lounger with a glass of bourbon and enjoying the sound of vinyl!

A bit soon to upgrade, but I'm tempted. The little WiiM unit would be nice in the workshop part of the garage, or even in my HT rig. How much?

Streaming is the last slippery slope. I have not spun a disc or LP, except to test a new connection in a very long time.

Same here...boxed up my albums before I moved in early 2022. Most of those 11 boxes are still sealed. The ones that aren't, are open because I started to inventory them...thinking I would unload the lot to a record store. I played a few during the initial inventory effort, but that was over a year ago now. I need to get back to that...

Meanwhile, I've probably added 300+ albums to my digital collection over that same time.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
