RMDS-1

I own an RMDS-1 receiver and speakers. Never been used. Yet no sub-woofer. Am I able to use the receiver and speakers without the subwoofer? Thanks

That's going to be difficult, all of the amplification for all of the speakers is in the subwoofer. The control center is the connection point for all of the source devices and produces the signal processing, but the unamplified signals are sent to the subwoofer. When you say, "...no sub-woofer" what is happening?

I don't have a sub woofer, never had one. When my parents ordered this (in the 80s I think) they were never sent a sub-woofer. They complained and were sent another receiver, no sub-woofer yet again. lol. What a shame Im unable to use these. Thanks

By today's standards the processor is not very useful, it wouldn't decode any of the digital formats and couldn't pass any higher definition video. The speakers, of course, could be used with any moderate priced surround sound receiver.

You're welcome, sorry the outcome wasn't more positive.
