Atmos For LSiM?
Options
Hello,
Can anyone recommend a model of Polk rear atmos speakers for use with an LSiM system? I am using 505’s & 706 up front, and 703’s as surrounds.
Thanks for your help.

Are you looking for something in-ceiling?
-
I am using Polk TL3s on ceiling for Atmos with my LSiM setup (705s, 703, 702 f/x). They have a ring radiator like the LSiM, but are very hard to find today.SONY VPL-VW385ES, Da-Lite 92" 0.9 HD progressive 16x9 screen, Apple TV 4K, Oppo UDP 203, Anthem AVM 60, D-Sonic 4000 (800x3, 400x4) for bed layer, 2 Crown XLS 1002 (225x4) for Atmos; Speakers: Polk LSiM 705s, 703 front, 4 702F/X surround, 4 Polk TL3 (Atmos), Velodyne DD15 Subwoofer.

I am not. Since my room has a sloped ceiling, I have to use rear atmos heights on the back wall.bms

Check out the Reserve R900. Also available in white now and they're wall moutable. As Atmos effects speakers they're close enough to the LSiM sound.

Does anyone think that the Polk OWM3’s would work with my setup as rear heights? Does enough audio information get sent to the rear heights, that it should make a difference that they are a different series?bms

No it should not make a difference.
There's usually not enough effects in those to notice a difference.

Thanks, that’s what I thought. Hard to justify 4-5x the cost of the OWM’s for atmos heights.

I recommend 703s to keep it consistent. I use six 703s in an Auro-3D layout but works great for Atmos.

I agree. In my system, i have 1.2TLs, LSiM 706c and RT series in ceilings for surround/ atmos. I also have 1 pair of klipsch in walls that i used for front atmos. With all the room correction calibrations, the system sounds seamless and I never find myself focusing in on any speaker that sounds out of place.
In multi channel stereo, the different sound signatures are very obvious but I dont use that setting.____________________________________________________________
