Sally Snowman, 72, is the last lighthouse keeper in America and will retire her post at Boston Light on December 30. Snowman was 10 when she first visited Little Brewster Island, home to Boston Light, America's oldest lighthouse, and married there before becoming keeper. Her departure marks the end of a 307-year era of manned lighthouses in the US
Boston Light is America's first lighthouse and dates back to 1716.
Boston Light's Fresnel lens, a marvelous 4,000-pound brass and glass lens which gives the lighthouse's 1000-watt bulb a 27-mile range

Woh. What was the prey?
Pigeon.
In the last photo, you can see its white wings (wingtips). The Cooper's Hawk has it clutched in one talon while kind of hopping on the other leg as it struggles to get airborne.
It kind of skipped into the underbrush with lunch. I snapped a few photos, but that was the only one that was decent. 
Autofocus on an inexpensive DSLR isn't always one's friend.
Birders (the hip, happenin' type they be) call mourning doves MoDos, so the closely related pigeons are known as RoDos (for rock dove, perhaps the more correct name for the common city pigeon).
The "o" sounds are all long "o"s in those terms.

The only lighthouse I have been to is Montauk NY, it was a beautiful place, beautiful time of year when we went..

Drove it in 2007 in my MINI Cooper S. Picture of the poster I got there. There's a national event each year called "MINI's on the Dragon." It's a national event, when I went there was 350 or so MINI's there. A lot of sports car clubs go there each year.
A guy on a motorcycle ran off the side riding with his dad and died while we were there.
Ran that route in a Lotus Esprit (at speed)
I did the same. My MINI S had a different pulley on the supercharger to give more boast, Bora exhaust, adjustable camber plates, stiffer rear sway bar, lower and stiffer springs for suspension, lighter wheels sticker tires and a dyno tune.
BTW saw a few Lotus Esprit's when I did track days, fun cars.
