Good alternative to SDAs?

Options
So, I am trying to think of a good set of speakers that have the sound I like but are realistic for most rooms and sitting positions.

I love my SDAs, I grew up on them and have had many different models. But, the big ones really need space to sound good and the sweet spot can be a little critical.

I have a pair of Monitor 7's that I love, I put some RDO 198s in them and they sound great. However, I have always wanted to check out the RTA series, particularly the RTA 15TL. If anyone has input on these, I'd love to hear it. I suppose I could just try to find a pair of SDA 2B's and mod them but I kind of want to try something new.

I don't think I'll ever get rid of SDA's completely, just want to know what else is out there.

Thanks for any help.

RTA 8TL or 11TL modded to the hilt.

I've heard that the 11TL model is the sweet spot, something about the 15TL's being to bass heavy. I can understand that.

Out of the non-SDA vintage Polks the 7's are hands down the best. The RTA 15TL needs to be way out into the room otherwise they get really muddy.

Hmm, maybe I should just get the 7s fully modded and try that. I don’t need another pair of speakers that take up the whole room

These are my 7s at our old house in NY. To me they look vintage and cool
