Hi Everyone,

My current integrated amplifier is Rotel RA-1592 MK2, works fine with L800, but I'd like to upgrade my amp because I love my L800 and want to pair them with the best amp I can afford.

So my two questions are:

1, what's the best Polk officially recommended integrated amplifier for Polk Audio L800?
2, what's the best integrated amplifier for Polk Audio L800 you would recommened?

Thank you very much!

There is no such thing as "best", only what sounds good to your ears. If the Rotel is kicking it for you, then roll with it. Personally I find most Rotel gear a bit on the dry side and not as engaging as some others. That's just me though, everyone has different tastes.

What's the price range under consideration and what's not appealing about the Rotel's performance? I wouldn't recommend going to a different brand that doesn't have as much current available to the amp section as Rotel's 1592 model. That means spending roughtly double. There are a bunch of models at the next price range up of around $6K to $10K. Some won't be compatible with the L800s if they use a differential amp design.

I'd consider preamp and amp separates rather than trying to get more out of an integrated amp.

Firstly, the Musical Fidelity M8xi you recommended is a diffrential output amp
No, it's a single ended design that offers balanced inputs/outputs.
