Even free Spotify utterly destroys the very best vinyl has to offer. Its hard to do worse than vinyl which is all about being part of a trendy group. There's nothing more moronic than buying nice expensive gear and then crippling it with records. You just want to fit in and post pictures of your record player on forums in pursuit of small spikes of endorphins. You like telling people about your record collection but just know that normal people don't care. Vinyl hipsters are almost as bad as vegans. Many of you are vegans. Get a CD player hippy.
First, I am NOT a fan of vinyl - ask anyone here whom I converse with regularly. HOWEVER, you have either not heard a solid vinyl rig, or you are just trying to be inflammatory. Your equating vinyl only to hipsters would be akin to equating Corvette ownership only to fifty-something guys going through a mid-life crisis (And ignoring the Corvette enthusiasts that race their cars on closed tracks at insane speeds). Two things can be true at once - A proper vinyl rig can sound spectacular, and "hipsters" can purchase and enjoy vinyl.
