Custom stands for my R200’s

Just so pleased with myself I can’t help but share. 😁😁

Most recent project - I built a pair stands out of scrap in the garage! Veneered with left over walnut from my Super 7 restoration project. Picked up a set of Tekton spikes (dang they’re cheap - $20 per set!) and integrated them so everything is nice and stable.

The plan was to fill the voids in legs with lead shot, but they’re plenty heavy and inert as they are. Maybe someday…. They’re built so they can be disassembled if needed. There’s a piece of 3/8” allthread running up through each leg and everything is cinched together with nylock nuts. Very happy with how they turned out.

These were lots more work than they should have been, but these little cabinets are worth it. Fun project. 🤘🏻

Your Stands turned out great, the fact that you built them from scraps you had, make them that much better B)

Crafty and clean looking. Maybe the updated 7's can share a matching set?

Something similar is stewing in my brain for the next project! Super stoked to do the full monte on the 7b's. I'm thinking Wharfedale Linton style stands... I'm excited to install the phase plugs and A/B'ing with some stock MW6500s. Standby for more details when I dive in. 🤘🤘

They are absolutely fantastic. I keep them on the B&K Reference 200.5 for HT duty - they really sound great and I love the soundstage with the rear firing tweeters. I found them a couple years ago for $150! Killer speakers I'm actually picking up a pair of K.5's today just because they rarely come up for sale. Same tweeters and woofers, backup parts if nothing else. 👍

The Linton Stands have that classic 7 style and wouldn't be too difficult to emulate.

Yup, I can veneer two blocks of wood. The rest is basic steel fab. Just have to powdercoat and voila! $400 stands. 😂
