Torn between LSIM 707 & 705 (resale purchase) for my basement media room. they would be replacing RTI A9 mains (music fan, not so much a movie guy, hence the change). Just purchased a LSIM 706c and loved the center channel. The basement is somewhat open concept, long room with a wide passage to the rest of the room (8 X 7 feet entrance). Size is 35'(L) X 12' (W) and 8' ht

AVR: Yamaha Aventage 3070
Power Amp: Monolith (7x 200 wpc)
Center: LSIM 706c
Mains: Rti A9 (to be replaced tith lsim 707 or 705)
Surrounds: Polk Audio Vanishing Series 265-LS 6.5" (supposed to be timbre matched to LSIM)
Rear: Rti A1 (may eventually replace them)
Subwoofer 1: SVS SB 3000
Subwoofer 2: Polk micropro 3000
Ceiling mounted height: Polk Audio Vanishing Series 65-RT

I prefer the 705 for music due to a more balanced presentation. YMMV.

When I had my 705's in my new house where the main room opens into the kitchen and dining area ( 30ft. deep and 27.7 ft. wide at it's widest point), the 705's were a little weak compared to my L600's. They fill the space much better.

I have no experience with the 707's, but I would think they would fill your large room with sound better than the 705's.
