Good morning,

anyone heard both? Any shootouts?
A little unfair price wise but...
Any other Polks to look at in this range?

It would be in a small room and WAF is in play.
Thanks in advance for any insights.

Got both in the cart. Dollar for dollar I could go R700 and not worry about stands.

Maybe slip them past the wifey...

MMm. I was going to drive either if purchased with a Shiit Aegir.
This would be more near field listening. Thanks for the input
    and link. Food for thought...

I should have mentioned I'm slumming with NHT Superzeros with
the Aegir at the moment. Nothing wrong with this as nearfield
    stop gap.

Andrew and Christie do a good job. I love the two view points.
Visuals is maybe MORE important for the Mrs.

I used to own some original KLH (22/24?) but they ended up in the audio closet and then
sold. The 5's however, are getting raves.

The Lintons with stands visually would work well me thinks with the Mrs.

Dragging the ole Monitor 7's (stock) out of storage...

... sometimes I wish I had just upgraded the X-overs on the M7 and been done
    with it. :)

Well, last weekend was the time to buy and I passed on both speaks. :|

Now I'm eyeballing some open baffle speakers with the idea of wedging
them into studio 2 this fall.

Any have any experience with open baffle speakers?

OB speakers require space around them. 'Wedging' them in doesn't sound like a good idea to me. Small rooms & tight spaces probably won't work. I have listened to a number of OBs and really enjoy them. In fact I built a pair myself. That said, some folks love the sound of dipole speakers (maybe you have listened to Magnapans?), while others hate them.

    thanks Mr. Shearer,

yes I've heard Magnapans a long time ago.
What you mention, I was afraid of. I was hoping
the design would remove the room from the equation a bit.

Option B was to put them in Studio 1 and move the
ATC speakers upstairs to the bedroom. The Mrs wasn't
crazy about it the last time they were up there. :#
