Hello.
Denon AVR-4810Ci: Next Generation 9.3 CH A/V Home Theater/Multimedia Multi-Source/Zone Receiver with Network Streaming and WiFi.
It's the same AVR-4308Ci.

    Once again, Denon advances the state-of-the-art in home theater surround sound with the AVR-4810CI, with nine on-board amplifier channels each rated at a robust 140 watts. The multi-mono block amp construction ensures top audio fidelity, and the Free Assign amp configuration function allows maximum system configuration flexibility. Equipped with the latest high resolution audio decoders including Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD Master Audio, the AVR-4810CI also features Dolby Pro Logic IIz, which derives additional front height channels. The AVR-4810CI also features a full suite of advanced Audyssey sound processing functions, including MultEQ XT eight point room acoustic measurement and correction, Dynamic Volume and Dynamic EQ, as well as the latest DSX decoder, which provides additional expanded front width and/or height channels. Any video signal, analog or digital, can be upscaled to 1080p HDMI output via Anchor Bay’s advanced VRS processing, and the AVR-4810CI includes vertical stretch mode for anamorphic 2.40:1 widescreen projection. The AVR-4810CI also features extensive audio and video connectivity, including six HDMI and three component video inputs. The dual AM/FM tuner section includes HD Radio, and the AVR-4810CI features XM and Sirius satellite radio options.

    I see that the AVR-4810CI is already listed on Denon's website, and the AVR-4308CI are talked about on C-Net and other web sites. It looks like the 4810 and 4308 are $2999 and $2699 MSRP.

    The specs look nice - 5 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs on the 4810, Pro Logic IIz/Audessey DSX height decoding, Anchor Bay 1080P upconversion, etc. It looks like it would be a killer pre-pro, but the lighter weight has me concerned about the amplifier performance.

    Has anybody gotten their hands on either of these?

    Please post as soon as anyone gets a chance to use one of these.

    Its WiFi has .11b, g which is not good enough for the HD (MP4) streaming.

    For the little difference in cost between the two, it is most certainly worth going for the 4310 just to get the far superior processing power of Anchor Bays VRS chip.

    The Faroudja DCDi chip used in the 4308 leaves alot to be desired with its very limited processing capabilities.

    So in summary, and not even counting the other upgrades that the 4310 possesses over the 4308, the 4310 is worth the price of admission over the 4308 just for, and to get that Anchor Bay VRS processing chip. Period.

    I have the "OPPO BDP-83 Blu-ray Player" that comes with: VRS™ by Anchor Bay - The BDP-83 incorporates Anchor Bay's award-winning Video Reference Series (VRS).
    If you disable Farouja 4308 and go straight. Even so worth a higher value...

    Yeah, that’s great but he was talking about the difference between the AVR-4308 and the AVR-4810, not the 4310. The 4310 isn’t an upgrade to the 4308, it’s an upgrade to the 3808.
