Polk Monitor 10b crossover upgrade

I decided to put my RTA 12c modification on hold until my budget allows. Fortunately I also have an absolutely mint pair of 10 b’s that would be in my budget.
They have the sl2000 tweeters which thanks to researching here on the forum I’ve already purchased the RD0194 replacement tweeters.
I’m now ready to buy the rest of the parts to complete the modification. I removed the crossover and it has one 12uF capacitor and one 34 uF capacitor. It has 2 resistors wrapped in a yellow covering labeled 12.00 and 100 VDC.
I’m not tech inclined but am going to order the parts and have a friend work on them and hoping he’ll tutor me so I can start some DIY projects.
I plan on buying Sonicaps for the capacitors but am unclear what else to put on my order sheet. I’ve read here about binding posts. Would getting new binding posts also improve the performance? Would appreciate any help from others who also appreciate Polk speakers.

    Those are mylar caps if I'm not mistaking

    There are no 100v resistors in there.

    That's a capacitor also.

    I just bought a pair of 10's with sL2000 tweeters. Im going to order new caps and resistors and was wondering if a 33uf 5% film cap is ok to replace the 34uf, at a minimum 10% +/-, electrolytic?This looks to be within the tolerances of the old cap.

    or use two 17uf caps paralleled, 33 will work in a pinch.

    I saw the Sonicaps, but the price has me hesitant. I found some 17uf radial film caps used for motor run caps. I have used some motor run caps that are great for crossovers in the past, but know nothing about the ones I saw. I could go with two 12uf lyrics, but really don't want to go that route. Thats why I asked about the 33uf. Ive run across odd value caps in the past like 7uf, replaced with 6.8uf, etc.

    yes they are a bit more in price but they are worth every penny.

    Yes 33uf will work but you should mark it somewhere that it should be 34uf just in case someone else gets in there so they know it should be 34uf.

    I plan on it. Any changes I make with speakers or equipment I restore is documented. Like replacing small value lytics with film caps, transistor subs, etc.
    Thanks for all the help guys. If I decide to keep these I'll probably shell out for the Sonicaps.

    That would be my recommendation as well: it's worth it in the long run.

    One last thing, I've noticed there are at leased three different crossovers for this model. Mine has a big blue 12uf film cap. I did order two new 12uf caps per speaker.
    Is the blue fim cap the factory used a polypropylene, or something else?
