Dogs & Cats (and anything else?)

Since it seems a lot of us have furry friends that are a part of our families, and unlike children, can’t be concerned with privacy on the internet (unless your animals are into social media).
Let’s have a thread showing off those little pals!

    Louis in June. I can’t believe he’s almost 17, he’s like a Timex watch.

I've always had one dog at a time. Haven't had one since 1996, when I retired a 13 year old very loving, but dumber than a box of rocks, Basset Hound. Just thinking of maybe a cat down the road. Seriously is there an optimal number of cats? I ask because it seems many households have more than one. Is having only one a disservice to the one? Do they prefer having a companion? If so, is it more breed specific? Not meaning to derail at all. Thanks.

I notice when I'm in homes with more than one cat, one cat will come visit and follow me while the other(s) will tend to hide. I've actually been attacked (usually ambushed) more by cats than dogs.

I've been in homes that are so pristine and spotless, and then I see a cat and am pleasantly surprised. Because I've seen the opposite extreme, way too may homes with litter boxes buried beneath a 15" high pile of unchanged litter and p o o p. I knew there were cat(s) the second the front door was opened. I understand any pet requires lots of care, which I always provided mine. Just considering possible future options.

30 years ago, I had a salamander named Fig Newton. He never may it to the knighting ceremony due to a cat named Kabuki.
Where’s the KABOOM?!?! There’s supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM!!!
