Bud I am going to take some liberty with your statement.

This c r a p was is local to my everyone's neighborhood nowadays.

I don't like it especially for all of our pets that go crazy.

There are solutions for those who have pets that are sensitive to loud noises.
Some of thes solutions do involve a trip to your local vet.
    Worth the trip IMO.

My dog was pretty ok with it being his first 4th of July... He was here for New Years eve which is pretty much the same as the 4th it just happens at midnight instead of when darkness falls.

There were a couple of loud booms that he flinched a couple of times but for the most part it din't seem to bother him although he did not want to go for the 10:00 walk so we waited till 11:15 when which everything settled down. People here in my town go a little overboard with fireworks but that's cool. We actually have year round fireworks stores here and when New Years and the 4th rolls around there are about a dozen tent shops that open up too. I am sure folks were out buying leftovers at giveaway prices today at the tents...

    We played frisbee this morning...

Fortunately, in our neighborhood, things were pretty quiet. There are far too many mature trees in the area for fireworks anyway.

Not so just a few miles away where we keep our horse at a local stabling facility that belongs to a friend. There, they went crazy, and, inevitably (I keed you not) started at least two fires that had to be put out by helicopter drops and fire crews. 🙄

The owner had to administer sedatives to some of the horses to keep them from injuring themselves in terror, so somebody will be getting the bill for those interventions as well. 😑

My take on the fireworks all over SoCal and other parts of the state last night is that there are hundreds of thousands out there that are sick and tired of the status quo and being told what to do, and that those people love this country....

Sadly, they will continue to vote for the very people that are imposing that status quo and those telling us what to do. They can see the truth, yet are unable to do what logic tells them.

This is not meant to be taken as a political post. In California, it is simply fact.

I don't know about out in Cali but in Arkansas when someone says it ain't political, you can bet your possum pie that it is political.

The sky being blue is political to some as well.

Add a side of roadkill stew and Russ is happier than a rooster in granny Clampett’s knickers.

Most people aren't setting off fireworks with a political agenda, they're just having fun.

Happy late 4th everyone! I was busy with a small family gathering with good food and drinks. Hope all were safe and felt a sense of normalcy during the holiday.
