I read a thread where a guy used a Mills 12 watt resistor. He didn't state the ohms.

I read a schematic where it's 2.5 ohms / 5 watts.

Should I order the 2.5ohm / 12 watt Mills resistors?

For another set of speakers...
I can't find a 4.7ohm Mills replacement at Parts express.

They have 4.5 ohm and 5.0 ohms.
Which would be better?

thanks.

They're many places besides parts express that sell vishay-mills resistors and yes you can go up in wattage but keep the same ohm value.

Go to sonic craft and look at the resistors there. Jeff is good people.

    Will do.
    Sonic Craft it is.

Will the 4.5 ohm replacement do in place of the 4.7 ohm that's on the board now?

    Or the 5.0 ohm?

I'm ready to place an order...

    4.5 or 5.0 /12 watts.

Will one make the tweeter brighter or softer or it doesn't matter much either way?

There is no 4.7 Mills resistor made. :#

There are some Daytons on the Parts express site. These are the ceramic style though.

    Oh well I tried...
Maybe next time click the link. It plainly states on the sight 4.7 ohm 10 watt. It's also an original mills not vishey-mills.

Or hey call Jeff and ask he's a great guy to talk to.

F1nut...I see 47 ohms in the link title. ;) I thought Ivan didn't see the coma between the 4 and 7 in my questions and then statement.

Maybe Ivan should've said it says 47 ohms but will be a link to a Mills 4.7 ohm. Maybe you should criticize Ivan instead of me. ;)

Why does the link show 47 ohms?!!

I clicked on the link and saw 4.7 ohms at the top a minute ago.

I won't apologize for the above stated reason, but I will...

Thank you very much Ivan! ;) I really appreciate your link to the value of a Mills resistor I was searching for. B) I will now complete my order with the others I have in the cart and submit it for filling.

    Let the soldering begin. :)

    They clearly don't carry a 47 ohm Mill's so why add a "." just for you? It's a link. Not a description. :D
