Ok, sad news. Very upset and frustrated. $%@&#**!^@%%#&@^%@÷×> I had YouTube playing an older song where the signal was low. So the volume in the HTR had to be up high. Unfortunately, after my song was done a 16Khz test tone was next on the play list. Well, needless to say after 3 seconds of my dog flipping out and the family covering thier ears. One tweeter shows 33 ohms and the other is dead open.

Efffff me!

I don't want to replace them with oem peerless 5514s. They are to hard to find these days. I want to try some ribbion or planar tweeters. Anyone with more knowledge than I can help out picking a sutible replacement fromnPart Express????

Thanks a million guys.

According to this article the crossover is at 2K. But it does not mention the slope.

    http://www.hifi-classic.net/review/polk-audio-rta-12b-339.html

And the fact they say they are 5 1/4 inch driver and not the actual 6.5 inch driver lends little credit to them.

I had a set of peerless replacements that took me a while to acquire but I kama'ed them out at no cost.

I can not express how upset I am at the moment.

    Buy the proper tweeters.

I took your advice before (thanks @F1nut ) in replacement tweeters when I first picked these up years ago. Took me a long **** time to find the right ones.

Now I'm looking to experiment with something else while I look for some 5514s.

All this is going on while trying to finish my Infinity RSII crossovers. I may call upon @audioluvr for some help in assembling the RSII crossovers.

A one for one R&R is no problem (for me) but I think I'm in over my head.

Dang man! It is starting to look like I wont have any worth while speakers for awhile.

I will probably replace the RTA12B in the living room with a set of RM7500s from my home theater, front height set in (from home theater) for tv stereo duty. Going to look funny with these little speakers in the living room.

Are those the 7 ohm Peerless?

Sorry for the expletive laced rant. Had a few drinks last night.

Today I found two silver faced polls that both measure right about 8 ohms. I also found one Peerless 5514 @8.4 ohms. So all I need now is to fing one peerless to get them back up. In the mean time I'll be installing these.

YouTube's autoplay feature was one of the dumbest additions/changes they ever made to the site in my opinion. Hate that crap.

Understand your frustrations. Are your 12's still fused? Peerless tweets pop up quite a bit.

Autoplay can be switched off, on the mobile site anyway. I think you can do so on the computer site. Although I'm not sure about that since when I switched it off on my tablet it goes for my account, not that device.

On mobile, it is at the top of the row of suggested videos that appears when you are watching a video in not-full-screen. :)

Sorry to hear about the 12s, Chris. I hope you get them up and running quickly! They were awesome when I heard them a while back.

Thanks Micah, I think when you heard them was prior to my crossovers being done.

For now I have these silver faced polks in there. I think they are SL1500. I can never keep the SL numbers right.

So I'm picking that one up tomorrow @Sound_Recluse . Thank you! Turns out the seller is the same guy I picked up my Infinity RSII from last year.

He has two more but they are Peerless 3514. I think maybe those are the Peerless for the RTA12A. I'm not sure. If someone wants them I can pick them up for probably $30.00/ 35.00 each and shipp'em.

@Faustin I think you had posted a pic of the 3514 Peerless. Did you need another pair?

I believe the 3514 came from Infinity 2000 II speakers, but they may have been used in other ones as well. It's a mystery to me still but I did post this a while ago in the Vintage equip deals thread:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/INFINITY-2000-II-1-DOME-TWEETER-PEERLESS-35145079/183896472675

And it does look like they come from that speaker model as per the pics in this other listing:

I hope someone here got these NOS 5514 Peerless's, which is the first time I've seen these come up for sale anywhere. They ended up going for about $61 each shipped:

Peerless 5514. Thanks for checking. I have at least one spare Peerless in stock. My 7b's use the Peerless as well.
