"Stimulus Check"

Important Tax Advice/Economic Stimulus

Sometime this year, we taxpayers might receive another economic stimulus.
It is indeed a very exciting program, and I’ll explain it by using a Q&A format:

Q: What is an Economic Stimulus?
A: It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q: Where will the government get this money?
A: From taxpayers.

Q: Is the government simply giving me back my own money, then?
A: No, only a smidgen of it.

Q: What is the purpose of this payment?
A: The plan is for you to use the money to purchase a high definition television set, a new iPad, or a new SUV, thus stimulating the economy.

Q: Isn’t that stimulating the economy of China?
A: Shut up.

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the U. S. Economy with your stimulus check. Use it wisely:

* If you spend the stimulus money at Walmart the money will go to China or Sri Lanka.
* if you spend it on gasoline, its money will go to the Arabs.
* if you purchase a computer, it goes to India, Taiwan or China.
* if you purchase fruits and vegetables, it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala.
* if you buy an efficient car, it will go to Japan or Korea.
* if you purchase useless stuff, it goes to Taiwan.
* if you pay your credit card off, or buy stock, it will go to management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.

Instead, keep the money in North-America by:

(1) Spending it at a yard sale or thrift shop, or
(2) Going to a ballgame, or
(3) Spending it on prostitutes, or
(4) Beer, or
(5) Tattoos
(These are the only American businesses still operating here.)

CONCLUSION: Go to a ballgame with a tattooed prostitute that you met at a yard sale and drink beer all day.

No need to thank me, I’m just glad I could be of help.

Yep, my name really is Bob.

I know your post was in jest, but America is the 2nd largest manufacturer in the world. There's plenty of stuff still made here that isn't just large airplanes. The US is also the largest producer of oil.

To stimulate the economy, a good way to spend your money is on service industries. Use it on home improvement projects.

Well, if this whole SNAFU (CV-19) doesn't bring a lot of jobs and manufacturing back here, then we will get the fate we deserve. Not saying it's got to happen tomorrow, but by next week at the latest...

Oh and too late, I just bought a new TV, no stimulus needed. Oops!
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

Tidal is four dollars for four months right now.
Just be sure to cancel before your four months are up or you will start paying regular prices.

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. A nontrivial quest, I reckon.

I doubt that there is anything that's 100% "American-made" (i.e., down to the bits and pieces and parts, cases, hardware, wire, finish materials, etc.) in 2020 AD -- which has interesting and amusing consequences for stuff belonging to, say, the armed forces, CIA, NSA, and whatnot. :|

EDIT: (again, just speculating, but...) I would further posit that anything that might be "100% American made" involves at least some machines and tools in its design, packaging, and construction that weren't, and likely couldn't (in 2020 AD) be made in America.

Not that I think any of this is good -- but it's life in 2020.

    Just. Buy. American.

If half the parts are not American, do your research. The fact remains to still buy American and support those in America that you wish to support. Quit getting all analytical on my ***.

You know full well what I was getting at, Doc.

    Just. Buy. American.

This is the best way to keep the money flowing in our economy.
