New Sonos S2 software

Looks like newer Sonos devices will soon support high res audio. Once the details are out, I may spring for a couple Sonos Ports.

Yes, that would be a great way if I only wanted zones throughout the house for background music. That's what I previously did with Squeezebox - waited for them to hit the used market. However, I want the capability to stream hi res tunage to my "better" system at the very least (although I don't think that would matter for the garage or outdoor zones). I'll be interested to find out what Sonos will support in that regard, since they've been averse to high resolution audio for so long.

Maybe after the likes of blue sound and cambridge putting good sized dents in their sales, they finally woke up.

Although their network topology is the best, they are behind in the HD world

I still have and use 4 pieces...and sound bar, play3 and 2 play5's. I would not sell all to upgrade to get HD

The poor man's path is an upscaling dac with the older Sonos platform. Makes for good casual listening but still short for those picky ears.
