I need to find an excuse to post this one, pronto!
An aside -- on another hifi forum website that I used to frequent much too frequently the single most common trigger for me was posts asking:How can I connect two amplifiers [or receivers] to one set of speakers?
Y'all don't seem to get that question here so often... but if you did, it'd be nice to have a ready answer to post (like the AVR biamp response above).
-
I've seen that here a couple of times, and even thunked it a few times in earlier days. Didn't Lew do this with a switchbox or something?I disabled signatures.
-
a break-before-make switch is all that' required
I always suggest something like this:
a big double pole, double throw knife switch
actually, for stereo, maybe 4PDT...
-
These are amazing lmao
-
So... I know a guy...
The B+ on these amps really, truly is 1600 volts -- so that interesting control for
spooling them up isn't as outrageous as it might seem.

I made the last two animated gifs (from yesterday) the speed I wanted, but once I uploaded them to the forum and view them in this thread, they are playing at a much faster speed. I've never had this issue before with animated gifs and can't explain it.
I slowed one way down, I'm curious to see if it plays at the same speed:
edit: Plays at the same speed, I'm clueless. -
I guess they don't have "NOP" (no operation) instructions to slow stuff down any more.
My old TI-57 had a "NOP" instruction. Ahh, the good ol' days.
Maybe you could put a few completely frivolous loops in to take up some time?

Do "we" have one on true vs. i biamping (e.g, with a multichannel 'receiver')? It used to come up rather often, at least there for a while

I made a badge last year, I think it was, with an included explanation.

I can't take too much credit, it's a direct quote from Jesse. That may be one of his longest comments. His shortest... "FAIL". I need to make one of those!

If you are going to use a classic quote from Jesse, you have to include his avatar, so not to infringe on copyright laws.

hmmm... I could imagine someone taking that image the wrong way.

I think his actual shortest post is, and quote, "No." -
One of the shortest letters ever written was penned by Victor Hugo, who queried his publisher about the sales for Les Miserables.
Hugo's letter to the publisher:?
The publisher's reply:! -

One of the world's shortest town names is TB, Maryland.
I've been to/through TB, in fact.
