Just watched it... Man do they know how to grab you and pull you in. The ramifications of this single episode to the Star Trek franchise are mind-blowing. What a way to resurrect the brand. It seemingly dismisses the films done by JJ, which is a very good thing IMHO.

Too bad Star Wars could not be as creative.

And, in other Pic(c)ard news... I read this on the internet, so it must be true!
Gene Roddenberry named Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek after one or both of the twin brothers Auguste and Jean Felix Piccard, and derived Jean-Luc Picard from their names

It's was AWESOME!!!! I'm so excited for the next episode. Love seeing Data and Picard back together. I can't wait to see what Riker's role in this is going to be.
Next Gen was my all time favorite Star Trek anything so having a new show is so cool.

My guess is that with the difficulty the vast majority of the fan base is having with the "Kelvinic" timeline, that Picard is being used as a way to bridge the timeline back to that of all the previous films and tv series. Just my guess.

I watched some YouTube reviews by hardcore Trekkies really picking it apart saying it's garbage. Like Data couldn't have another daughter because of Lal. WHAT ABOUT LAL?! 0/10 garbage show.

They laid the foundations for his daughter by stating data could have been resurrected from a single positronic neuron, in theory., so creating a daughter from a recovered memory is entirely plausible at this point.

Now that all people have a sounding board of some kind you can't escape these type of opinions. Anyone can have their opinion I'm not a hard core Trekkie but I love the entire world of it and I have absolutely no issues with this show. I'm grateful to see this cast back.
