Christmas Ideas for my Wife

I really need help deciding this year, so I narrowed down to these choices:
1. A Peleton bike
2. A new vacuum cleaner
3. A new GMC pickup truck
4. A completely overpriced chocolate diamond necklace
5. An LG washing machine
6. A Lexus
7. A Navage...the whole family could use this
Decisions, decisions....

I would consider pairing 2. or 5. with something else, or maybe both?

A Peloton would be useful for everyone too, that would be my choice.
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

I find the whole to do over that Peleton commercial astounding. Given, it is weird and stupid at the same time, but geez. Relax people and worry about your healthcare, retirement, or more important things a bit more and unplug your brain from the matrix once in awhile.

I am not confronted by these decisions. The last thing I want is my wife to be disappointed by what she gets. She always gets what she wants.

We usually have a nice dinner a week or two before Christmas and pick up what she wants afterwards. Her decision. This year it was Lonesome Dove in the Stockyards for dinner and then to the Louis Vuitton store. But I also pick up small extra surprise gifts.

The one rule we have is that she cannot have the present until Christmas day. She acts like it is torture but that is part of the fun. She talks about it with her friends up until Christmas day.

It has become a fun tradition and she looks forward to that day just like Christmas.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Ah yes.. the “Chocolate Diamond”... simply a marketing name for crap stones with so much black carbo in them that they can’t even be used for industrial purposes.

Nothing says “I love you” as much as a new vacuum. While you are at ir get her a new iron so she has something to smack you with. :p

Take a look at CPO Mercedes GLC or GLE... my wife is in love with hers, and wants nothing else for Christmas.

I am of the opinion that vacuum cleaners and washing machines (and the like) should not be given as presents. I view these as household items that are items that could be bought as general wear and tear items for family necessity. When we can afford it, I try to buy her things that she wouldn’t otherwise justify buying for herself (she’s very practical and frugal). Peloton is very popular with my friends and family but for me it would quickly become a clothes hanger.

Normally my wife and I don't get each other much. If we want it we would have already gotten it.

This year we went black Friday shopping at Mercedes Benz. We replaced her 17 year old X5 with a 2020 GLC 300... err now we have car payment.
When I was a kid my parents told me to turn it down. Now I'm an adult and my kids tell me to turn it down.

    @kevhead72,
The best gift for a woman is always something personal, in my opinion. Like @tratliff, I think finding what my wife wants on a quest together makes what ever the gift is much more "valuable;" the experience enhances the gift.
With that said, I suggest you start your quest at the Lexus dealership -- say, an LX570, or if she wants something smaller a GX460 or RX model. :)

I agree but in our household cars are like a vacuum or iron. If we need one we will get it. No need to wait.

Where my wife really likes how we handle things is with purses, belts, shoes, watches, jewelry...Not the regular stuff. Things she would not ask for on a regular day.

Like I described above. Took her to the Louis Vuitton store and told her to pick out what she wanted. Her and the sales associates go crazy trying to make sure it is the perfect selection.

You can only imagine how that night ended!!!!

Get her the "Master Cylinder" at the adult shop and a spa treatment in Cabo. While she's in the spa you can go marlin fishing (for her of course).

Agree on the appliances, not a good play.

I recall many years ago, when first dating the Mrs, she had just bought a new home. I helped her move, packing, loading, unloading, all the requisite duties any man in the middle of a courtship would do.

Since her new home had a small yard (she had a condo prior) I decided to buy her a lawnmower. Just for her, a TOTL Craftsman electric start, self propelled, mulcher, bagger, you name it. Beautiful machine.

Really excited, I unveiled it to her, still in the back of my truck. Even a romantic red bow on the handle! She looked at it, quizzically, and asked me, "Is that for you?"

Duh! Years later, after having routinely and carefully cut her yard, I realized, I guess so! What an awesome gift I gave to myself that year!

If you have compiled a gift idea list, and you’re asking a group of people, who don’t know your wife, the list should be burned.

My advice would be to write a heart felt letter thanking her for putting up with you, and letting her know how thankful you are to be part of her life. This should be enclosed inside a card that simply has your signature it.

You should also go to a florist, and get help with an arraignment of flowers that doesn’t include poinsettias or roses. Roses may be thought of as romantic, but it’s been done, be a little different.

As for a gift, get her some small necklace type thing. A small simple gem stone or maybe a plain heart. Go to an actual jewelry store, and ask for help from some lady wearing something similar.

I’ll end this buy saying to you and anybody else reading this. Do not give your wife a gift, give her a memory.

Well then a memory huh? thinking thinking..... yep got it.

You'll need 15 bottles of various scotch, Bourbon and whisky's. Invite Russ, Tom and several of those rascals from Dallas area. Throw a party after about 15 hours of those various bottles then the party nak ed in the back yard at midnight playing bean bag toss (cornhole) for those who know.....
    That'll make some memries......

Jail is optional and not required......
