Just started yesterday.

Thinking it might be the 60hz problem - just don't know how to solve it.

Any suggestions?

Maybe start with a cheater plug to see if it is a ground loop hum. Has it been working fine in the past?

Sorry, I guess I could have given a bit more background.

Have had the s/w for ~2 years; worked great.

Just watching the TV yesterday (A/V receiver off) and heard the faint sound.

[Actually haven't used the A/V system in 2 weeks.]

Switched power cables (had been using one with a 90 degree bend from monoprice) back to Polks's cable; hum still there.

Even bypassed the power strip completely and plugged directly into 2 different wall outlets; no change.

Do a search on "Ground Loop" and you will find a ton of info. here.
The trick is figuring out where the ground loop hum is originating.

k72 has a point. The most common cause of ground loop feedback is your VIDEO cable connections/equipment.

But, the OP claims that he was fine for 2 years? Hmmmm....have you 'changed' anything in your rig 'recently'--especially any video connections?

Can't think of anything else. Others will chime in.

    Changed anything....no, it's been "as-is" for a long time.

As I posted before, I have not used the system in 2 weeks when I started hearing the noise.

I'll try changing the cable this evening (fyi, connection is from the A/V sub-out to the s/w LFE).

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by cablebox.

Is it the part (component) of the s/w where the cable connects too?

Replaceable? A plug-in component or soldered?

I concede it is not surprisingly easy for me wholly to construct varied scientific achievements, because especially I can really reveal the juice of the tip and related with it dubieties. It is cultivating for me in-full to locate college research papers secretly, because mostly it is unavoidable pawning of correct outputs. I need I can use this extraordinary facilitation in future.

Is this typical? Reason I ask is that I just got a new entertainment center and because of its design I had to put the cable box on the shelf above my avr which is much closer than it used to be. Everything else is the same including where everything's plugged in. I have developed a hum in my BIC F12 and was just too tired last nite to troubleshoot the issue. Putting that furniture together is a pain in the ****.

Alright, cablebox as in DVR or whatever for the TV. Didn't realize that is what was meant since I have no idea how that could affect this sub and not the others.

Hum still there and no solutions other than unplugging and not using it.

Converts a 3 prong plug to a 2 prong. Any hardware store, Home depot, Walmart, carries them.
