So, a recent "Legend Series" post led me to Crutchfield and a little quality time spent comparing (Crutchfield 'catalog'-style) various inexpensive -- and not-so-inexpensive -- small two-way loudspeakers.

Lookin' at the "Signature Series" Polks, I was struck by the term "Terylene". Now, I am not a polymer chemist, but I know a wee bit 'bout polymers -- and I didn't know what that was.

Turns out, it's polyethylene terephthalate (PET or PETE) -- the stuff soda and bottled water bottles are made from. In fiber (fabric) form, it is better known as Dacron or, generically, polyester.

I like days when I learn something I didn't know previously. :)

When Mrs. H was preggers with our first child, we told people that, if it were a girl, we
were considering Laurel Ann as her name. It (ahem, she) was a girl, but we didn't do that to her.

Our second child's working moniker in utero was Gunnar Halvorson (for a boy); a manly name. As things turned out, he was a boy, but we made a runtime change in the name.

I see what you did there...or almost did.
