    NAD integrated would be the most musical, affordable option, but absolutely NO bling if you’re into that.

    I recommended a Pioneer Elite AVR to a family member based on some of the stellar reviews here, but have been completely underwhelmed by it. Definitely not stereophile grade compared to much more discreet NAD (opinion is only mine, and strictly limited to the AVR’s, not the other products from the line).

    Certainly it's a fine line, keeping the best of your toys, and the Mrs happy. I vote for keeping the Mrs happy!

    Until my computer crash, I was transferring vinyl to my hard drive anyway. I was going to sell the table and downsize the record collection as well.

    I generally fall into the "I spit on receivers" crowd and think of HT/surround as decidedly non-hifi.......but....the SAF is not to be discounted. I know from experience.


    In this situation, and I'm not familiar with the setup.....I'd ditch the surround/HT gear and think about a surround bar which I would think would suffice for tv/movies and keep the 2ch gear for music.

    As far as musical HT gear......at HQ Polkfest 2012(?) Stu's HT rig was pretty darn impressive. B&K or Anthem....I don't really remember but it sounded pretty legit.

    Just my .02.
