I went from Atlanta, to lower Michigan (visiting family), then trekked across Ontario to Buffalo and back to get my Sony SS-M9 along with a full set of ES gear (E90/N90/XA3/SA5), cables, a mini-disc player (+50 discs), and a rack. Brought a van full of gear back with me. Although the drive across Ontario wasn't that far, I chose the wrong day to do it (July 1, Canada Day). The border crossings were extremely backed up, especially coming into the US on the way back. I think it took something like 5 hours to cross back. Those who were around back in 2010 may remember the story.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

I’m thinking about catching a one way flight from Dallas to Tulsa and then rent an suv to pickup some Altec Santiagos. The drive back will be about 4-1/2 hours.

Nice! They look sharp. That might be the best display of your main amps you've had in a little while.

After moving to CA, I had to go back to Maryland to get my stereo. Not sure if it counts as a road trip since for that episode I flew. My roommate at the time worked for United Airlines and he was able to get it shipped free.

~20 hours round trip from Brownsburg to GA for a set of RS-II's and RS-IIIb's (which ended up with Don in WI for a bit, and I think he moved them along to someone else here). More info on it here (pictures are long gone thanks to PhotoSUCKIT).

I even got George Grand to laugh!

I drove 24 hours round trip just to hear speakers that didn't come back with me and see first hand how Russ treats bushes.

I too have made long road trips and walked away. It's funny to me that some sellers think they have you by the short hairs. He's not driving all this way and not buying... Yep you're wrong. I have actually had a seller reach back out to me months later and say he'd accept the offer I made. I'd love to have seen the look on his face when I said "knock another $50 off and drive the 4hrs to me I'll think about it while you're making the drive"

He never showed up lol 😂
