Thanks. Nah, not different colors...but the preamp button is a little brighter.

Think the reference to burn in is that it will "develop" over an extended amount of time. Example, the grain that some have noticed tends to smooth out after several hours of playing. It may sound good, but, after many hours of play it will, according to many, develop its subtle sound improvements.

Think I'll hook it up to pool system , in place of the B&K , tomorrow. ..
Let it run 24/7 for a few days ... Then into it's intended place ....

Y'all put them in standby or leave them full on all the time - notice any sonic differences ?

I think the most important thing is to leave it connected to power and utilize the standby mode when you're not using it, not the power switch on the back. Leave that main switch on the back always on, and then just toggle it in and out of standby with the front button. That way it stays ready to play versus it losing power.

I leave my amps on all the time, except for the tube amps.

Yeah, that's always a good strategy I think.

It looks like PS Audio implemented their standby mode a little differently than some other companies. From the user manual:

"We recommend leaving the rear panel power switch active at all times, and placing the unit in Output Disable Mode when finished listening. Output Disable Mode can be activated by pressing the front panel PS Audio logo button, located on the upper left hand corner of the Stellar Amplifier’s front panel. When the logo button is not lit, the amplifier is in Output Disable Mode. This mode keeps the amplifier in a reduced power mode, maintaining excellent performance benefits while consuming little power."

Pass Labs recommends leaving their preamps powered up as well.

Fortunately, the Joule has a standby mode that keeps low power on so it's not a cold start every time.

Hooked up to pool system for a few days 24/7 break-in and listening...
Running WXC-50 straight into it using its preamp mode ....

First impression is that it has plenty of “oomph” - after 5 mins of listening.. LOL !
