I see the piece made it through customs. Was there eye-rolling involved with your customs agent?

Congrats. Very nice! I look forward to your impressions of it. They get great reviews and I was looking at the new Auralic Vega and Aries G1 & G2 models myself recently but they were beyond my present budget so I ended up buying the older Auralic Aries to get my feet wet in the digital world. But I know an upgrade will be in my future. Enjoy, and let us know your thoughts once you get some solid listening time in.

First impressions of the unit are that it’s built very very well. It’s all metal and not just the thin metal on most components, this thing is really heavy. The screen has more color and resolution and is larger than the CXN, and the knob breezes through the menu with tactile clicks which helps be more accurate and precise. The connectors on the back are super high-quality.

I have had to program my harmony remote system with discrete codes from another component that I’m not using and then direct those codes via IR to the unit so that it can map them internally. The unit itself does not come with a remote, but I’m happy to report that all the commands work perfect after about 20 minutes of programming.

I am now on to listening from various sources and taking notes which I’m not used to doing, this should help me relay accurate thoughts on my first impressions from listening. I will report back in a few hours.

Thanks Joe! Ever since I got the 851N, I'm really intrigued by this whole streaming thing. This baby is destined for the Living Room, for which will be perfect.

Ok..we know Joey is lost in the music...ya gotta try the headphone outs. I did for the first time today and another huge plus. Ya gotta come back for air before too long. I'm headed back to listen here and it's staying on all night long. These new IC's open up more and more the longer they play.

Big party for my eldest tonight. Got some listening in but so noisy here. Oh well. There’s always tomorrow.
The unit looks so pretty there though, I’m thinking I need it to be on top of my stand so I can see it better.

So great talking with you Joe and happy for your new toy. You hear now what these babies do and it is truly amazing and the ease of the app is so nice. The best app I have ever used but I'm sure there are other great app out there too. I just happen to love the Lightning DS app. I'll have my G2 buzzing real soon! I'll keep ya posted. 🐝 🐝 🐝😂

The app is truly a piece of art. I know you don’t stream from the subscription services Johnny, but the consolidation of results from searches is just so slick. Loving this thing for sure.
