I'm pretty sure he's sold out and I know he's busy with stuff right now. You might consider using Hurricane nuts instead.

I contacted him and he is sold out and not planning on making any time soon. I guess I was just hoping someone had an extra set. Are the hurricane nuts just as good?

No, but they are better than stock. If you can wait, a set may pop up. I prefer them to hurricanes.

Just the beginnings of something spectacular! A pair of completely stock for now 2.3tl’s. New old stock parasound a23( probably a bit underpowered but it will do for now). I was hoping to get everything I need ready before I ship out the crossovers( Rings, dynamatt, tweeters, etc)

I need to figure out what I need for my 2B Studios
If the guys in the know can chime in . . .

    I've got a mish-mash here:
    3 - 12" PRs
    3 - 15" PRs
    13 mid woofers
2 tweeter brackets (I did not think Larry made those)

    and ...

    16 - "1/2 moons"

    I'll need 2 - 12s, the 2 tweets and 4 MWs . . . What are the 1/2 moons used for??

    TIA

The half moons ARE the tweeter brackets. The flat plates are drill guides.

I'm only seeing one 12" and one 15". The flat ones are drill guides.

not sure I can cypher and listen to music at the same time . . .

    Here goes

    What I'd have available is
    3-15 PRs
    1-12 PR
    9 MWs
and 12 tweeter brackets (assuming 2 are needed for each tweet)

What's left may be a .... Cluster bleep??

So what I’d need is 2 15”PRs, 12 tweeter brackets, and 12 MWs. So I’d be missing 3 MW brackets right? Can any one that’s done the 2.3tl install verify?

Yes two are needed for each tweeter. One at the top and one at the bottom.
The 2.3's have six mw's per side and three tweets per side.
    One passive per side.

Are you sure the half-moons have nothing to do with Russ?

Waiting on him to double check something, if he decides to sell, I’m gonna need 2 15’s, and all the tweeters and mw’s he has. I’d still need at least 3 mw’s to complete the set.

On a side note can someone tell me if hurricane nuts are installed, can you go back and install the rings if they become available? Or is the hole for the hurricane nuts bigger than the one needed for the rings? Also is the same #8 size screw used for both?

The rings have hurricane nuts on them

So it’s the same 9/32 drill bit used to install both

The rings do not have Hurricane nuts installed on them. However, both have threaded inserts. The thread pattern on the rings is 8-32. Hurricane nuts come in various thread patterns one of which is 8-32. There's no reason one couldn't replace Hurricane nuts with Larry's rings if they wanted. That said, I wouldn't use epoxy to help secure the Hurricane nuts if you need to remove them down the road.

Thanks, I might have a chance to purchase an incomplete set of Larry rings for my 2.3tls so I was hoping I could install the rings and finish off with hurricane nuts until I could hunt down the rest of the rings and replace the hurricanes . Also, I already purchased the socket cap screws you recommended in another thread and was hoping I could use for both as well. You answered my questions. Thanks again.

Another option if you can get a bunch of Larry's tweeter brackets is to break off the end tabs, which will net two threaded inserts per bracket. The ends are designed to break off if desired/required. If you do that I recommend applying epoxy to the flange, insert into the pre-drilled hole and let the epoxy cure for 24 hours before installing the drivers. Be careful to not get epoxy in the threads. If you do you can always use a tap to clean out the threads after the epoxy has cured.
