Need help downsizing my box

I upgraded my box from 1.8 cubic ft to a 3 cubic ft for my rockville 12" destroyer but with this new box i purchased i feel like its not giving me that punch on the low decibels like the other box but the Mid bass sounds a lot better but i need that punch. The speaker for a vented box says 2.84 cubic feet vented. I would prefer not cutting the box. Can i add that can foam in a section of the box to take away cubic space?what should i do? Thank you!

Add another sub to it... Or get an appropriate sized box. Adding fill won't help you.

Try a barrel if boxes don’t work.

Why would i add another sub? 3 cubic feet Is my vented box and minimum for 1 sub is 1.8 cubic so 3.6 minimum ain't gonna cut it. **** it i guess I'm cutting the box and downsizing it... Do they normally put screws in a prefabbed box with glue and silicone? My 1.8 cubic vented at least gave me that punch!

I wouldn't mind adding another sub but if I did id want another amp the rockville d15 runs at 1500 watts 2 ohm... So id have to buy another sub n amp and i feel like my alternator is already maxing out even with the big 3 upgrade and capacistor and i have a v4 so the biggest alternator i could find was 140 amp and i have a 115 so would that even be worth it? I seen people fab 2 alternators on there car but what would something like that cost?

Oh. You are talking about a car stereo. You should have said that first. Don’t waste your money. It’s only a car.

Bro don't waste your money its just a.... I could say anything I'm not into. But your into speakers inside your house and I can respect that even tho I'm not. I spend more time in my car then i do at home sadly so its important to me. Please don't tell me how to spend my money I'm asking for advice on a subject, either help or keep your opinions to your self your not my financial advisor...
