Trout Mask Replica. May not be the worse but it's the only one I've bought that I can't listen to.

Really check this stuff out. Why didn’t someone’s parents stop them! How did this ever make it to production?

I don't know what the worst album of all time is.
I'd have to think that Mrs. Miller might've been on the short list, though.

As I remember, her greatest hit was a memorable, evocative cover of Downtown.

I had to give Mrs. Miller a listen to. While the voice is alongside of really bad karaoke, at least the band in the back is in time with each other. Now it could be the Shaggs could be the offspring of Mrs. Miller?

    Andreas Vollenweider / Eolian Minstrel

    PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS ONE!

I bought this CD from the Goodwill a week or two ago and I played it in my car. After the first song...I had to eject it to make sure it was Andreas. It was... :s with some woman singing or something she would call singing. :#

Well a day or two passed and I had to go somewhere else. That stupid CD was still playing. I thought...I hope all tracks don't have that singer doing her thing. Skip...yup :s skip...yup :s OH NO! they all had some pretty good music BUT then in came her... :s .
Here it is for you guys and gals to see for yourselves. Maybe you'll like her. Andreas let her sing on all these songs for some reason.

I think I'd have to be in that right mood to like this style. ;)

I guess what I don’t understand is why anyone buys these POS albums. Over the years I have bought various rock albums that I only played once, but never tried to buy an album expecting it to be bad.

I don't know it there are any records (seems like there were/are), but y'all might want to add the Portsmouth Sinphonia to your list. No less than the redoubtable Brian Eno was a member, in his formative years.

They were excellent playing on Eno's "Put a Straw under baby". This song is a a fractured nursery rhyme and it is unique to say the least. According to legend he swapped all of the instruments around and people played whatever they got. But maybe the Sinphonia was really that bad?

With all the bad music out there, I don’t think an album can claim the title of woerse, and least in my opinion.

Considering there is a complete genre of music that I think every song and artist involved could be in the running for this title, my opinion is close to worthless.

This probably wasn't meant to be an I don't like this or that genre thread. Think of a genre you like, and then think about the worst attempt at it. I usually don't buy albums without at least one song I know I already like, but I have been disappointed when learning that was the only song I liked!

I can't believe it but I ended up listening to the whole The Shaggs "Philosophy of the World" in one sitting. This is NOT the worst album in the world. For me it is something unique and has a strange draw to it.

I previously listed to a clip here and there and had to laugh when I first heard it. They have absolutely no musical talent and it was painful to listen to. But after a few tracks I started to get it. Yes, they still have no musical talent but there is an air of innocence and simplicity that can grow on you if you let it.

Not sure if I will listen to it again but I am glad I did.
