I own the Rotel RCC 1055, which is basically the same as the RCD 1072 but the RCC 1055 is a 6-CD changer. I love it. One of the great things about it is it HDCD so I can spin all of my Grateful Dead Dave's Picks in HDCD. They are excellent CD players and this a great deal for someone.

Maybe I am just nuts but most CD players sound more natural to me then some of the streaming I have. Hyper detail Do not need to hear the guys nose hair moving. Then again i am NO expert on streaming or files or whatever
Still a great price on a very good player

My goal was to chase that hyper-detail, and then warm it up just a touch. I am happy to be done searching for gear and happy to just sit back and listen.

Let it go for way less than what I paid for it, which is par for the course for me.

But I'm happy it'll get some use in your buddy's system, sounds like he's putting together a very nice setup.

You should never expect to get close to what you paid for your gear. But you are getting something for it and someone else will get to find out how good a player it is.

So I hooked up the Rotel directly to the Cary. Much improved sound quality for sure.

As a transport, the EAD is the clear winner! IMO of course!

Doing some A/B now between the EAD/NS and Rotel direct to the Cary! What fun!

Silnote. Morpheus ref 2. I used the same on the EAD when I ran both as transports to the NSD.

Then I used WW oasis 8’s from the Rotel directly to the Cary.
