S55 ‘s Atmos compatable caps

Greetings! I have a 7.2.1 system powered by Denon Atmos enables amp and with 2 mid- ceiling speakers.
Would I benefit by adding Atmos caps to the front S55’s or do the ceiling mids satisfy that need. Thanks!

Depends on a lot of unknown variables. Adding speakers doesn’t always mean better sound.

Things like room size, positioning of ceiling speakers in relation to seating position, and ceiling height would be helpful to answer your question.

The reflecting Atmos "caps" are a serious compromise product.

Ideally, ceiling mount is going to be the better option because that is the Dolby preferred recommendation.

But if you absolutely have to go reflecting (I did in my living room as the setup was temporary), then for the S55s, I would go with something narrower like the Klipsch, SVS or Sony toppers.

The Elacs (I have them) are wider than the tops of the S55s and so are the NHT and Onkyo models.
