I had its baby brother the 331 for many years when growing up and loved the sound it produced. Nice find!!

Barrington....rich people never throw stuff out. Not even dust on the inside, looks almost brand new. Walking away wasn't an option.

I had the 551 years ago. Well balanced and clean musical sound. Always liked the 771 look with silver buttons...classy

    ooh.
    aah.

Should have a pretty good tuna in it, based on my (albeit limited) experience with Sansui receivers (and tunas).

PS I am sure the electrolytics are tired, but chances are it'll work fine. Not sure bringing an old soiled solid state receiver up on a variac will actually help reform the P/S electrolytics... but it can't hurt. :)

Has it been unrun for a long time?
If it's been in recent, relatively steady use, it should be fine.

In the old days, rich people gave their old stuff to their servants -- this is (literally) where the tradition of Boxing Day (26 December) came from.

    It wasn't pugilism ;)

Now they pay them to take care of e-bay sales. Cut the regifting down dramatically.
