Remote for Signa S1 does not work

The remote for the S1 only works on and off at a short distance only. Have to get up and walk within a few feet of the soundbar for it to work at all. Replaced battery, powered down and back up and the problem still exists. Appears the IR bulb in the front does not come on with the commands on the remote. Also could not register the product as nothing occurs but a server "polkaudio" not responding.
Ready to give up on this system.

  • Same problem here remote barely works and I cannot sync my TV remote Sony to my Signa S-1 soundbar
  • Terrible experience so far ......also soundbar barely produces sound through subwoofer.....Brought them back to Best Buy......was told the system tested fine......Im stuck with this system or take a loss and buy another. Don't depend on Best Buy to offer any assistance. They have their money they don't care.

    I believe the S1 soundbar does not have a learning remote, so only the supplied one will work. I'll ask someone at Polk to contact you via email, but it probably won't be until Monday.

    Same problem. I'm regretting my purchase. The remote works maybe half the time. Very frustrating.
