A cool (new) tool for active crossovers

Someone on a vacuum tube group I belong to shared a link to this "new" (i.e., current production) three-way active crossover. I mean, perhaps it is too good to be true for the $, but it does look awfully interesting.

The modules and interior parts look low quality... Not sure about that one for a higher end system
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

The Marchand is the go to crossover for most active users, but it doesn't present itself as much more exotic than what Doc posted. Just a larger form factor. You do have to consider that low voltage in an active unit doesn't require nearly as high grade materials as a passive speaker unit that handles lots of power.n0fumbtbqbzv.jpg

Someone on the list where I saw it said, in essence:
meh, just get a used Bryston 10B
    http://www.bryston.com/products/other/10B-STD.html

There is a lot to be said about keeping XOs in the low voltage/low power (line level) domain, I would opine.

To that end, I've acquired a pair of EV (pro audio) XOs, but that's as far as that particular experiment's gotten. :|

I might be old school but I won't consider a component that uses surface mounted devices. Give me a real resistor.

I know some well regarded companies are now using miniaturized components and get good reviews. But I never heard one. And never will.
