New RCA Interconnect Recommendations

It looks like some family members may want to chip in to buy new IC"s for my birthday and Christmas this year. I'm looking for recommendations. I currently have Signal Cable Analog II's with the basic connectors and some very old MIT Terminator 3's. Open to suggestions. I've looked at Douglas Connections. There are so many connector types to choose from and not a lot of time to research. Have fun living vicariously spending other people's money and throw in some suggestions. Snake oil comments will be ignored.

Priority connections are:

Sony ES CDP to Pass Labs X1
Pass Labs X1 to Sunfire signature amp

Other less priority connections are:
Pioneer AVR to Pass Labs X1
Pioneer Center Pre-out to Sunfire signature amp
Oppo BDP83SE to Pass Labs X1 for CDP comparison

I could also ask for speaker cables. They have to be 14' and I bi-amp the 2.3TL's (Sorry Jesse)

    Wireworld Silver Eclipse.

For speaker cables I still use the Wireworld Equinox even in my top system. They're so good for the money I struggle with moving up the line.

Regardless of which way you go, I highly recommend OCC copper as a baseline metallurgy.

Kimber Kable PBJ or Hero with Ultraplate connections. Mix and match as needed. Hero are the better cable but it’s not a MASSIVE sound difference.

Thank you both for the fast response! For both recommendations, I'm curious what sound properties you find with the cables? The Sony ES CDP and the 2.3TL's tend to be a bit on the warm, musical side which I really like. I want to make sure that whatever cables I get don't neutralize that warmth but enhance detail if that makes sense.

Wireworld cables (with the exception of the Eclipse) are very neutral cables. They scope them to ensure that they affect the signal as little as possible at each price point. The Silver Eclipse keep this in tact with great detail, full body, smoothness, and an ability to showcase more of the music in the presentation. The Eclipse is warmer and does really well with a system pushing on the treble.

    The Equinox cables mirror above.

Getting a full loom of Wireworld really showcases their abilities as it removes the tuning aspects most cables have. For whatever reason, within each product category, the Wireworld cables start to really shine at $600-800. This isn't a slam on their lower priced items, but if you can afford it, that price bracket is really where you want to be.

Just in case you haven't noticed, I am a dealer for Wireworld so take that into consideration. I won't claim they are the best in the world, but I will tell you nothing has convinced me to step away from the brand yet.

Thank you for the insight and potential bias alert. PM forthcoming.

  • I have WW IC's, good stuff.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk Signature S60's with ZU Audio IBIS jumpers; Cables: Wireworld Eclipse IC; Audioquest Big Sur IC; ZU Audio Mission speaker cables; PS Audio AC-3 power cords, all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

All TV's sound enhanced by Polk Magnfi Mini's.

Other; SDA2BTL's, M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All speakers have had crossover rebuilds, resulting in a small fortune invested in Sonicaps, and tweeter upgrades.
