I have an Empire 2008 cartridge that came with my Pionner PL510 but the stylus was broken off before purchase (got the record player for $10 anyways so who cares). I ended up replacing it with an Ortofon Pro S that a friend gave me.
Question, is it worth chasing a replacement stylus for this cartridge or just go down a different path. Grado, Denon, AT etc etc.
Disclaimer: I am not ready to go head first into the rabbit hole for vinyl, just curious to see if a different cartridge will improve my performance although I don't have any specific quarrels with my current set up. Just curious. There is a lot out there on other Empire carts but the 2008 doesn't seem to be mentioned much.

I’d look for a good used Denon DL-110 or a Nagaoka

I have seen numerous mentions of the DL-110 with high praise. At this point my curiosity doesn't overtake my frugality. I'm trying to have a low risk moderate results kinda dealio.
For instance I have found a $20 replacement stylus for multiple empire carts (and some $100 ones too). However having trouble locating anything that specifically states the 2008 model and not a variation model I.E. 2008IMP.
Part of the purpose of the thread is to see if these carts have any reputation here with members who's experiences (including your's @dromunds) vastly exceed mine and to see if there maybe some history of this carts that may be interesting as many audio companies can be.Just a dude doing dude-ly things

I have an old Grado G that pairs real nice with my Pioneer PL-530. I'm curious how a modern Grado would compare.Grado fan myself.
