    Depends on your content lol...

I like my Roku a lot (we have them in both bedrooms and the loft), and I use my Xbox 360 downstairs instead of one.

Amazon Fire is another option to look at.

We also still have a "basic" cable package we just dont use it (but if we get rid of it they start throttling our download and upload speed at a certain point)

I want to be able to have live sports, ESPN, ESPN2, Fox sports, etc..

A friend has a fire stick that is "jailbroken" and it get most everything, but it isn't HD.

  • As far as a tv streaming service goes, I have had them ALL, and YouTube TV is far and away the best experience and the most features.

I'd say Apple TV, I like ours quite a lot.
  • As far as devices they are pretty close. Nod going to Apple TV, but it’s more expensive. Amazon and Apple doesn’t support YouTube TV, but both do all others very well.

I think Apple supports YouTube TV, pretty sure we used it to watch the Olympics...
    However, I'm not sure. :)
  • Ahh it’s just the FireTV then that doesn’t support it.

I’m kind of liking what I am reading about this so far.

Did you do Hulu with the DVR? I like lots of things about it, especially the huge library of available shows. But missing amc and some of the live dvr features are frustrating. Is YouTube tv better?

  • I use the Amazon TV box and Sticks in my house, the service and selection of content is getting better and better. Supports 4k (box & newer devices) sound is DD plus, if you go with HBO go or some other add on apps you can get DD-Atmos.

Yeahp Hulu tv was pretty good, but was missing some channels I wanted. And I think there limitations on the number of simultaneous streams was low. iirc. But still the YouTube tv interface, responsiveness, picture quality and the phone app are so good it feels better than any cable I’ve had. DVR, start over, and on demand all work perfect. Local channels offered too. My only complaint is no NFL Network.
