New Integrated Amp Has Arrived - Yamaha A-S3000

This just arrived today. Many weeks of research, shopping other integrateds, and then hesitation to pull the trigger, but finally made the call. Yep, it's old school... no DAC, no room correction and whatnot. Looks old school too. Looks awesome actually. Big @ss VU meters take me back to the day.

Some may feel this piece is overpriced. But, the engineering and build quality that went into this are phenomenal. Breaking it in now so no critical listening yet, but really like what I hear. Pairs well with the SF Cremonas.

Who the hell needs room correction anyways? Room treatment is the real room correction! That thing is gorgeous! The Japanese companies are really making some great products nowadays, I loved my Teac gear

I heard one of those at a local shop. Your speakers will be singing and the meter will barely be at the 1W level. Very nice piece!!!!!

Pics as requested. You can see my setup is not ideal. Happy at this point to have my rig up and running after many months dormant after moving to a new (smaller) house. Need a new rack with smaller footprint and/or move it to the far side of the doorframe visible to the right in the first photo. The Cremonas seem to be tolerating the proximity to the wall. In the prior house they had much more breathing room.

    Love it!!!!

Yamaha gear has a special place for me. My first piece of gear bought with own money was a Yamaha AX-900 intergrated. At only 130wpc it had MUCH bigger balls than it let on. Sadly someone liked it so much they broke in to steal it while i was at work.

I have this -- thing -- vis-a-vis Yamaha hifi equipment. Well, not their loudspeakers, so much -- but most of the rest of it.

I LOVE the new line too. B)

I like your SILVER edition a lot.

I've been a Yamaha FAN since the 70's. I bought on a payment plan, the cheaper of the two Yamaha surround sound Integrated amps when they first came out. Yamaha was the first Co. to come out with Dolby surround I think. Yamaha has seemed to have made some quality receivers and integrated over the years.

The newer ones are out of my reach though.
I may live long enough to get a used one like yours down the long road someday. ;)

Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.
