I have a nice looking passive to replace the one with the discolored surround that you could have as karma + shipping if you buy them.

    Does that help???

My very first pair of Polks (Late 1990) were a pair of 4.5's with the Tawainese tweeter just like that. A year later (Jan/Feb 1992), when I built my first home theater with 2.3TL's, a CS100, and a Dolby Pro-Logic Yamaha integrated, I bought another pair of 4.5's for my second set of effects channels. This pair of 4.5's were about 2 or 3 inches taller and had a Polk tweeter. They no longer reside in my Polk museum. :p
  • Monitor 4.6 Series 2 speakers, CS175i center channel speaker, recapped upgraded PSW202 subwoofer, pair of speaker strands, and twisted wires. $50.00

Someone needs to buy these, I'm so tempted to just because.... it's an addiction.

I just found the box the second pair came in. They were labelled "4.6". Oddly enough, they were sold to me as a match to the 4.5's. by my local Polk dealer. :p

I don't know much about the Monitor 7's. From what I understand there are multiple variations of them. Is this a good one? If I was to get them will I have to replace the tweeters as well?

I'm thinking these could be nice surrounds for my SDA 2A.TL

    What do you think?

There's no such thing as a bad 7. The picture shows that they aren't 100% stock with 2 different vintage PRs.

From my perspective one just needs a bad cleaning. That rust color happens to many. Windex or 409 take it right off.

You can't pass up Monitor 7's for $45. Take them home and listen to them. They will probably sound awesome. If you don't like them you can double your money parting out the drives and the tweeters.
