For sale is my a5 CD player . Asking $600 obo . Hate to see it go but since the vinyl bug . I haven't used for months . And instead of just letting it collect dust someone should use it .

Matt does indeed own one and he wouldn't let me take it when I was picking up some other stuff from his house.

If I still had my A5-CR amp, I would buy this just for samesies! Great player at a great price.

    GLWS!

    I do have your A5-CR. :)

Makes this very appealing, but not in the cards for me at the moment...

So, not to thread jack, but if Matthew Polk owns one....I'm guessing this may be the last silver disc spinner one ever buys??

    I'm tempted, but, I know I shouldn't.

The A5 uses a pair of JAN 6112 tubes, but they last many thousands of hours in use. Finding new ones is not an issue but I think they are supposed to be a matched pair in this application.
  • Would someone that owns one, hit the high points? Would this pair well with a SS amp. I have a Anthem 225 as well as a Parasound P5 and HCA-1500A.

    TIA.
2 channel: Anthem 225 Integrated amp; Parasound Ztuner; TechnicsTT SL1350; Vincent PHO-8 phono pre; Marantz CD6005 spinner; Polk SDA2BTL's; LAT International speaker cables, ZU Mission IC's and power cables all into a PS Audio Dectet Power center.

Other; M10 series II, M7C's, Hafler XL600 amp, RB-980BX, Parasound HCA-1500 amp , P5 preamp, all in storage. All vintage Polk have had crossover rebuilds and tweeter upgrades.

Your price seems on the money, and it is a heck of a CD player. I am on the hunt for a PS Audio PerfectWave transport right now or I would snap this up.

It’s hard for me to let it go it has such a richness to it . Make your music sound so much better . It’s hard to explain it like gives it a 3D open stage. It surrounds you in the music.

Forgot to say the buttons on the front have to be pressed one or two times to work them don’t know if it’s from me always using the remote. They still work . Let’s drop the price to $550 obo and buyer pays shipping. Thanks
