Does anyone know how to setup a dedicated music account on a Windows PC

One that has a separate log in that defeats all of the other junk that runs so you can play music without anything else running?

Are you asking how to turn a Windows PC into a dedicated music server? That is, it only executes the music server program, and nothing else? Google it. I have read many web posts on this subject, and how to optimize Windows for the best sound. Of course you have to upgrade the PC power supply, sound card, memory, and use a flash drive. Have fun.

Blue I am asking about how to do an account login that cuts all of the regular crap off so next to nothing loads except for what is necessary to output music to USB

Okay. Google will tell you. I would also make a script that does the same thing no matter how logged in. Or just buy a music server. :)

I could be mistaken, but windows has to be running and connected to the internet for a music service to run off the same computer. The music service is internet based, without the internet, no service.

Mine show up as an Icon, when you set up the music service, you have the option of staying logged in, check it off. That way you just click on the ICON and the MS app opens and is ready to go. No additional log in procedures needed. Only when you want to make changes to that account.

You can download Fidelizer. It is designed for Windows and shuts down all processes not needed for audio.

I'm going to keep watch on this, let us know how it goes OK?
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

    OOPS, my bad then.

How do you have it setup ? Is it part of a home network ? You should be able to just leave the 'puter on and access the HD without having to sign into the internet.

I suspect (?) that the OP wants to ditch all of the background/zombie processes running on a plain-vanilla Windows system after startup (i.e., not just go 'off line').

PS Goin' off-line is easy. Unplug the ethernet connection (or turn off the WiFi) on the 'pute in question ;)

How about a Auralic Mini ? you stick a SSD drive in it with all your digital files and use a IPAD to control it. they both have to be hooked up to a wireless router to talk to each other but its only like $549 :) has analog outs to hook up to a preamp or integrated amplifier.

and toss out your PC ;) & did I mention it can play DSD/DSF files.
