Got it yesterday afternoon. UPS came to my house at like 5:30, that is really late for them.

I was bummed, I had the day off and I was totally looking forward to watching it. But by the time UPS showed up, my little kids were.

It's downloaded to my MacBook as well. May watch some at work today...

    Haha.

Just finished it and Phenomenal sound, the system got a nice workout tonight. Haven't opened up the theater in a while. Had to have been a few scenes in the movie where the subs hit 15hz or less.

Man did my Velodyne CHT12 put in work with that movie last night. My upstairs neighbors must have hated me...too bad the bass is so loud it drowns out their crying.

I feel the same way as far as picture quality. Maybe i was sitting too close in the theater, but some parts were especially poor.

After the second viewing I was very much in love with The Force Awakens.

I'm finding this to be the case with practically every movie these days. I see it in the theater, then months later when I watch it at home on BR...I like it much better. This definitely was the case with The Force Awakens.

    No excuses!

I may just be done with theaters altogether and just do more B/R's...

Picked it up from Costco last week and watched it yesterday with my wife (who hadn't already seen it) and my son (who had).
I also enjoyed it more at home than in the theater, although the theater "knock" may be due to the fact that my opening day viewing (at Arc Light Hollywood) was somewhat hindered by a breakdown in the theater's 3D part way through the show.

So, i finally watched this yesterday, as i had it off, and i was actually, thoroughly entertained. No wife or child home, the volume set at "immersion level", and slunk deep into my sofa. Like stated by others, the sound on this one is awesome and the CGI was flipping great as well.

So, some of the concepts were a rinse/repeat of the early movies (which i saw the remasters in the mid 90's in the theater as well as the other 3) but it wasn't a scene for scene remake. Kylo Ren is horribly acted but then again, look at the other 6 movies before this. It was mostly bad acting so i can look look well passed it.

The only part that i didn't like was the last 30 seconds of the movie with a stare down and a silly fly by.

    SOLOOOOooooooo NOOOOOooooo!!!!
