Any you guys suffering Oscar night ? The wife and her girlfriend have gotten together every Oscar night for the last 20 years.

Love that dress, hate that dress, those shoes are horrible, earrings don't match, do they own a mirror, she looks terrific, she looks horrendous....blah blah blah. Then the awards, no way....they sucked, cinematography....there wasn't any, B.S.. Then comes the after party. How many times a night is that bi##h gonna change ? Is that a slurpee they're drinking ?

Someone shoot me please, think I'll take the dog for a walk to Indiana and back.

Shipped the wife off to the neighbors for an Oscar party with a bottle of Vino.

I stayed home, cooked some pasta with red sauce and linguica for the kids (pasta is always a hit) and we watched the pilot for the new Shannara series.

    Priceless escape.

Bullseye! Could give a rats patootie about them. Just keep making movies that are worth watching and give the actors an Atta Boy at the end. Good enough for me.

    Key there being "worth watching".

Sometimes I get confused watching the Oscars, have to look to make sure I didn't hit MSNBC by mistake. So I only tune it for 5 minutes, go do something for an hour, come back for 5 min. National Geographic channel is much more interesting. Maybe we can bring back Mad magazine and give them their own channel. Closest thing we have is Archer, isn't it ? Love that show....

I think I've mastered the Oscars -- two minutes of sound bites on "Morning Edition" the next morning. Done.

I am more and more approaching the primary season the same way :-P

About made me sick to hear Ennio 's Oscar was his first. Are you kidding me??? What is wrong with these idiots over the past 50+ years who pick the winners? Ennio has written some of the most beautiful and memorable movie soundtracks since the 1960's.

The categories that Mad Max won in, it should have. Star Wars was a good movie, but it was not really stellar in any technical aspect.

IMO, Mad Max was visually and sonically stunning.

I normally don't bother because liberal hollywood can't pass up a chance to politicize the entire evening; but I thought Chris Rock was hilarious. I think he handled it well with just the right mix of making a point, without making it a whinefest. Just my 2 cents.
