SACD 5.1

Options
When it says the SACD is remastered in 5.1, does that mean that it's not made for 2 channel & that you should only listen to it in 5.1?

Dunno but in my meager SACD collection I think that they all have 2 channel option.

You have to read the covers. Some do and some don't. There are also some which have CD layers.

Im thinking the 5.1 is just another option. Can't imagine getting a hi rez cd and not being able to hear it in 2 channel but don't wanna pull the trigger till I know for sure

When DSOTM SACD 1st came out its was $13 on Amazon...then it was like $50+ but now I don't see any one selling it.

IF it is listed as a Hybrid SACD it can be played as a regular CD in normal CD players...most 5.1 are in both 5.1 & 2.0

Okay, I was looking at the 30th anniversary edition yesterday that is out of print. The new one is a lot cheaper. Which version sounds better? Do they both have 5.1?

Pull a tooth, put the tooth under your pillow and wait. Hopefully the decoder ring fairy shows up and leaves it under your pillow.

I got mine for $15 when it first came out. I should have bought a couple. It seems to appreciate better than stocks. :D

They are pricey because they are out of print. So what is out there already is it. If SACD and DVDA had taken off big time they would still be putting out large batches of them which would keep prices reasonable.

So now people who have them and choose to get rid of them can ask for a premium price on them.

I have Wish You Were Here on SACD as well as remastered Sony Super Bitmapped gold CD and CBS halfspeed LP. The SACD sounds the best
